S/S Drottningholm (built 1909) is Strömma Kanalbolaget's only ship always powered by a steam engine. The silent pulsating steam engine makes the boat ride calm and pleasant. Many guests also appreciate the close contact with the water, due to the low table, in the dining room on the lower deck.
The dining room was recently renovated, and the decor mixes influences from today's trends with decor and an atmosphere from bygone times. On the upper deck, there is a smaller dining room and a sun deck perfect for drinks and mingling. The boat is suitable for groups of 25-80 people and is available to rent for events such as lunch, dinner, parties, and transport in Mälaren and the Stockholm archipelago.

The History of S/S Drottningholm
In 1909, S/S Valkyria was built and was initially used as a passenger boat in Mälaren and the inner archipelago. During the winters of the 50s, she operated the line to Möja and drove goods. Strömma Kanalbolaget bought the ship in 1968 and renamed her S/S Nya Strömma Kanal with the idea of serving Strömma channel. Unfortunately, the ship was too deep and she was renamed again. This time to S/S Drottningholm, and in 1969 she began to operate the route Stockholm to Drottningholm.
