2021-03-29

Things to do – activities, overnight stays and arts and crafts

Easter is almost here and for most it means a little bit of extra time off and hopefully time with your loved ones. Hopefully there will be some nice spring weather so that we can all spend time with friends and family outside. Have you made any plans?  We have listed the top things to do in Gothenburg during the Easter holidays – everything from Easter treats to activities for the whole family.

Season premiere – Paddan sightseeing tour

Make sure to take a ride with the classic Paddan boats that start running for the season during the first weekend in April. Regardless if you already live in Gothenburg or just visiting it’s a great way to explore the city. It starts at Kungsportsplatsen and goes through the old moats and canals dating back to the 1600’s and under the many low bridges out to the fascinating harbour. The guide will tell you fun and fascinating facts about the things you see.

TOP TIP – Pre-book your ticket online for guaranteed spot onboard the  Paddan Tour

Address: Kungsportsplatsen

Pralinboden in Haga – Luxurious Easter candy

Spoil yourself with some pralines from Pralinboden in Haga – there are plenty of delicious treats to choose from. You can buy a colourful Faberge egg filled with assorted pralines, or choose from flavours such as blueberry ganache, brownie or champagne truffle or different vegan pralines. They also sell tea, coffee liquorice and other treats.

Easter at Nääs Fabriker

Located just outside Gothenburg you can find Nääs Fabriker, where you can enjoy children’s activities, Easter inspired lunch, dinner or a coffee and cake at their café. They also have a special Easter deal with overnight stay, dinner and breakfast included. Nearby you can find trails, a nature playground and an outdoor gym.

TOP TIP – Make sure to pre-book your dinner or overnight stay in advance at Nääs Fabriker.

Easter arts, crafts and games

Fun games and arts and crafts are a big part of Easter and hopefully we can look forward to some nice weather to enjoy time outside with family and friends. Here are some of our best tips of things to do together as a family.

Fun games for the whole family
An Easter egg hunt is fun for the whole family and can easily be adapted to suit the participants age and skill. A few variations are:

  1. Coil a string through the garden and attach one end to the egg and give the other end to the child. They can then follow the string to the Easter egg treasure.
  2. Place coloured feathers in the garden and hide the egg by one of them. Let the search begin!
  3. Make a treasure map leading directly to the egg or to other spots where you have hidden clues as to where to find the Easter egg. The clues combined reveal the egg’s hiding place.

Arts and crafts – make your own Easter bunny
Take a coloured piece of paper, draw around your hand and cut out the shape. Cut of the paper middle finger – the index and ring finger will now look like “ears”. Fold the thumb and little finger to look like ”arms”. Finish by drawing details like eyes, nose, mouth whiskers and feet on the bunny.
