Visit the fantastic Kon-Tiki museum located on the Bygdøy peninsula. Thor Heyerdahl crossed the Pacific Ocean on a raft made only of balsa wood. The museums exhibitions include a large collection of items related to Heyerdahl and his journeys.
You can also visit Heyerdahl’s library, with 8,000 books. One of the most exciting installations in the museum is the underwater exhibition, which contains a model of a 10 meter long whale shark.
There is also a 30 meter cave tour, during which you can watch the Oscar winning documentary film Kon-Tiki.
